Hi, I'm Monica! (she/they) I love working on projects that have impact; that educate, inspire and provoke thought. I believe media is a powerful tool that should be used for good, not evil. Whether it's branded, educational or corporate I believe it's possible to make an impact with storytelling.
As a queer woman of colour, diversity is at the forefront of my mind, ALWAYS! Representing my community and other marginalised groups is extremely important to the work that I'm involved in and generating a voice for those under represented is why I'm here.
I directed Our Aotearoa, winner of 'Best NZ Short Film' at Doc Edge Film Festival 2022 which is available on RNZ (Radio New Zealand). Early 2024 I ventured over to Singapore for mentorship from some extremely talented documentary producers and directors at Beach House Pictures.
Over the years I've collaborated with globally recognised companies such as Universal Music (United States), and Beach House Pictures (Singapore). I've also worked with New Zealand-based organisations & companies such as Sonder, Te Papa Tongarewa (National Museum of New Zealand), Ministry for Culture and Heritage, Ministry of Education, People First, Kiwiwealth, and Cash Converters NZ.
